Two and a half centuries after thirteen colonies declared their independence, the UFC brings the Octagon to the most famous address in America. Freedom 250 is billed as the first sporting event ever staged at the White House — a stage built over months on the South Lawn for one historic night.
Because the grounds sit on federal land, no state athletic commission holds jurisdiction; the UFC invited advisors from the Association of Boxing Commissions to oversee the bouts. Fighters fly in to weigh in the day before at the Lincoln Memorial, then walk out beneath the Washington sky.
